Centipedes / Millipedes
These elongated arthropods have numerous legs, which is a distinguishing characteristic of the species, although they may be quite different in size and coloring. Millipedes have two legs per segment and centipedes have one pair per segment. They feed on insects and rotting vegetation.

Centipede & Millipede Inspection Tips
These arthropods can be present in large numbers. They seek moisture and can be found in any damp area. Crawl spaces and basements may provide the best habitats.
Pay attention to the gardens and tree cover around the structure. Dead millipedes and centipedes are often found around door and patio areas. Look for them in:
- Mulch beds
- Under siding
- Cellars and basements
- Door thresholds and porch stoops
- Around sumps
- Check spider webs in crawl spaces and near the foundation
